Such a statement is considered rare in a traditional Nepali society by an unmarried actress. Karishma’s Daughter Kabita having a grand birthday celebration -

The daughter of Karishma Manandhar, Kabita Manandhar, has come home to celebrate her birthday this year. Kabita’s plan to surprise her mother by arriving unannounced met with another surprise – the mom wasn’t at home. Karishma had a plan to go to Doha on the day the daughter arrived. Karishma had to take a tough decision on whether to please her fans or to please her daughter.

Upon her arrival in Nepal, Kabita’s birthday celebration started. She cut cakes and had fun with friends and family. Karishma arrived home on Friday morning. The day is also the birthday of her daughter Kabita Manandhar. Karishma finally decided to keep her promise with heavy heart and left for the Arab country on the day Kabita arrived home.

Rekha Thapa to work for Raute and Chepang children

Nepali actress Rekha Thapa has returned back to Nepal on the evening of December 10, after the successful screening of her movie ‘Kali‘ in Hong Kong. -


While in Hong Kong, Rekha talked about Rekha Thapa Foundation, a non-government organization helping backward community kids. In the event she told about the plan to help kids of Raute and Chepang communities. She has started the foundation with 3 kids and she is planning to help more orphan kids. The foundation is responsible for the upbringing and education of the children under it.


She also told to register herself as the mother of one of the kids to provide him with the citizenship certificate.

Nepali Actress Arunima Lama

Another Arumima is debuting as an actress in the Nepali industry in ‘Kina Kina’, Arunima Lama. A lot of actresses debut in a lot of movies, but Arunima is special because she is debuting in director Ukesh Dahal’s movie. - 


Ukesh is known for making Nepali movies in adult themes. His previous movie ‘Palpalma’ got an ‘A’ certificate and it had became a successful movie. In ‘Kina Kina’ Ukesh has features Rajesh Hamal in a role of an artists who does nude arts. After a long search of an actress who could do a nude scene, Arunima Lama was selected to feature in the movie. At first, Dahal told that the actress was a fiction character Dil Kumari Waiba from Mustang. But, later it was revealed that the actress is Arunima Lama. -

In ‘Kina Kina’ Arumima sheds all her clothes in front of the artist Rajesh Hamal. The censor board has approve the scene in which Arunima has covered her parts by her hands and hair. Although the movie was refused to pass in its original form, the board has passed it after the film makers comply with the Board’s demands of reducing the durations of kiss scenes. The movie is going to be released in Shrawan last week. In addition to Rajesh and Arunima the movie also features Karishma Manandhar, Raj Timilsina, Sashi Khadka and others.

Showing body to gain media attraction is considered in general to be unsustainable in film industry; let’s hope, Arunima’s case will be different.

Rekha Thapa successfully screened Kali in Hong Kong

Rekha Films’ superhit movie, ‘Kali’ was successfully screened in Hong Kong on December 8, 2013. The lead actress and the producer of the movie, Rekha Thapa, watched the movie with the viewers. Rekha had gone to Hong Kong on December 3.
The Council General of Nepal in Hong Kong, Mahesh Prasad Dahal was present in the ceremony.

Neeta Dhungana feeling better now

Actress Neeta Dhungana has managed to get over the problem of stone in her kidney after using medicine and a lot of water.  -


In an earlier report, Neeta was suggested a surgery, in case the medications didn’t worked. The doctor had prescribed some medicine for the actress to dissolve/disintegrate the stone instead of performing a surgery.

Rajani KC debut movie Loafer releasing on December 6 -

The debut movie of the actress Rajani KC, ‘Loafer’ is releasing on this Friday, December 6. The actress is being introduced by one of the successful producers of Nepali movie industry, Chhabi Raj Ojha. -


Chhabi is credited for introducing Rekha Thapa and making the top actress of the industry. Until the divorce and registration of Chhabiraj Films, he used to make movies under Rekha Films banner. Rekha is currently in Hong Kong to screen her movie ‘Kali’.


To give the information about the movie and the artists, a press meet was organized in Kathmandu on December 3. In the program artists including Rajani spoke about their roles in the movies. Talking in the event, Rajani expressed her satisfaction in working with a seasoned producer and well known actors.

Binita Baral – theater debut in Telling Tales

Actress Binita Baral is doing a theater play for the first time in her acting career, starting today (December 6) in Theater Village, Lazimpat. The play titled ‘Telling a Tale: Kitchen Dramas’ is about personal stories of Nepali women. In the play, gender inequalities, violence and other serious issues are said to be raised in funny way. -

Loafer initial report – Rekha’s Kali did better opening -

In an initial report, Chhabi Raj Ojha’s movie ‘Loafer’ is not attracting audience as expected on the first day of the show. According to the initial analysis, if Rekha’s ‘Kali’ and Chhabi’s ‘Loafer’ were released on the same day, as was announced previously, ‘Kali’ would have easily steal the lime lights. -
‘Kali’ enjoyed houseful opening and it turned out to be a super hit movie of 2070. Being released during Dashain festival might have contributed to the success of ‘Kali’ but, Rekha’s star value on movies can’t be denied.


Chhabi has started the shooting of another movie without Rekha – ‘Lazza’. The movie is introducing another actress – Shilpa Pokharel. Aryan Sigdel, the actor of ‘Loafer’ and Chhabi’s upcoming ‘Lazza’, was introduced by Rekha Films. It’s a coincidence – among Aryan’s movies only the movie under Rekha Films banners were successful. These days, Rekha is not in good terms with Aryan.

‘Loafer’ success or failure can’t be predicted by the first day alone, but one thing is sure, Rekha is a lucky charm for Chhabi.
